Education & Care
|
The NCYPE is unique in bringing together specialist teams of teachers, consultants, registrars, nurses, psychologists, therapists and a range of support staff working to ensure that young people living with the consequences of complex epilepsy are provided with first rate education, treatment and support.
St Piers School and The NCYPE Further Education College provide residential and day services for children and young people aged 5 to 25. The services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team of professional staff. The aims and objectives for each student placement are shared across the team and regularly reviewed. Therapists contribute directly to individual student learning programmes and the on-site 24 hour medical service ensures that students are able to attend school or college with minimal disruption.
The interdisciplinary framework of The NCYPE and medical services works to address the emotional, social, cognitive, communication, physical, behavioural needs of the students, helping them to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life. |
