Epilepsy Awareness in Schools
We offer a service to schools to raise awareness of epilepsy and associated issues. We have lessons that can be presented to your pupils in all key stages. The lesson will be delivered by a professional with expert knowledge of childhood epilepsy and can be adjusted according to the needs of your classes.
Originally developed for use in PSHE lessons the material has been differentiated to cover a wide range of abilities. The lessons include a variety of activities so that all learning styles can be met.
Topics that can be covered include:
- What is epilepsy?
- How is epilepsy treated?
- Famous people with epilepsy
- How you can help someone with epilepsy
- Epilepsy myths

Free Epilepsy Education 4 Schools
The Childhood Epilepsy Information Service (CEIS) is launching a national schools programme called ‘Epilepsy Education 4 Schools’. A team of trained education officers will work in the pilot area of the south east of England.
The team will deliver epilepsy awareness lessons directly to children and young people in their schools. They will also be involved in delivering epilepsy training to school staff so that many more children with epilepsy will get the support and understanding they need.
The CEIS is grateful to over 15 funders for their generous support of this project, which means that schools will receive the service for free.
