Health Services

In the UK, epilepsy affects 75,000 young people. For many epilepsy can be well controlled, and may not impact negatively on their lives. However for a significant number - some 15,000 epilepsy can impair their quality of life and bring other problems which can include;

  • Developmental delay and learning difficulties
  • Difficult to treat seizures
  • Behavioural and emotional problems
  • Education difficulties
  • Physical disabilities
  • Loss of skills

The interdisciplinary framework of The NCYPE, aims to address the emotional, social, cognitive, communication, physical and behavioural needs of the students, helping them to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life for the future.
