Assessment Services
The NCYPE provides an assessment service for young people with epilepsy. The service, based at the NCYPE campus in Lingfield, is provided for children over the age of 3 up to 19. Packages are developed to meet individual needs.
The aim of the service is to provide a multidisciplinary assessment of children with epilepsy and provide recommendations to professionals as to how their needs can best be met.
The assessment service also provides an outreach component, with a visit by the epilepsy nurse specialist prior to and after the assessment.
These young people require expert support and an holistic approach from a multi-disciplinary team; to ensure that future programmes of treatment and educational choices are made on the basis of detailed evaluation and understanding of their difficulties.
