Medical Services
The medical support provided to students and clients is consultant led and delivered within the context of the multidisciplinary team. The team meet regularly to observe and collate the information they need to plan integrated intervention goals. The team provides assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic intervention, 24 hours a day.
The team comprises of the following professionals:
- Consultant Paediatric Neurologists (joint appointments with The NCYPE and Great Ormond Street Hospital)
- Psychiatrist (joint appointment with The NCYPE and King's College Hospital)
- The local General Practitioners
- Paediatric specialist registrars from North and South Thames rotation
- Epilepsy specialist nurses and auxiliaries
- Psychologists
- Carers
- Therapists
- Pharmacists
- EEG Technicians
The staff at The NCYPE work as an inter-disciplinary team to ensure that medical, clinical, education and care services are delivered in a co-ordinated manner.
