Funding

Funding will be met by either the Local Education Authority (LEA) or Learning and Skills Council (LSC) depending primarily on the age of the student. They are the lead agencies with the statutory responsibility for the placement.

It may be that Social Services and/or Health Authorities part-fund the placement, but that is a matter for local negotiation. Fee levels for LEA funded students are set by the NCYPE, the range of fees reflecting the different levels of support required. The LSC has a national fee matrix.
